Here is the conceptual plan for the 9th hole.
So the changes to hole 9 are:
Adding a new black tee so the hole goes from 507 yards to 565 yards. So instead of being our shortest par 5 at 507 yards, our 9th hole will be over 565, uphill for the drive, and into the predominant wind. This will make the hole considerably more challenging for the longer hitters as they would not be able to clear the hill and instead of getting 30 yards of roll, they would find their 2nd shot considerably longer. For the other tees, there will be no major changes in length.
Relocating the oddly placed bunker that is currently to the right of the green forward, adjacent to the fairway, and near the last eucalyptus tree on the right side. This sentinel/approach bunker would be 60 yards from the center of the green and would force longer hitters to think twice before trying to reach in two.
Here is a virtual rendering of what the new sentinel/approach bunker would look like.
