The 5th hole is probably the best example of how the trees impact the look of a hole, how things will look when the tree dies, and how great the original bunkering would look.
Below is a sequence of images we photoshop'd to show the impact of the tree at the corner coming down, which it will do someday.
And here is our 5th hole in 1939. There were actually two bunkers before the greenside bunker, the red circle only identifies the first one.
This is the conceptual plan for the 5th hole.
In summary, the only changes to the hole are:
Restore fairway bunkers from 1939 design.
Remove the Y tree on the left, which will fall down in the coming years.
Widen the fairway.
It is worth noting is the fact that in the Tom Doak redesign, hole 5 was one of the few holes to remain unchanged and he added a fairway bunker in the same spot as we are proposing, and here is his rendering for the hole:
