Here is the conceptual plan for the 7th hole.
The proposed changes for the hole are:
Reroute the cart path left of the green so it connects with the cart path on 8 and goes behind the green.
Regrade the area between the new cart path and the green so shots hit to the left can bound onto the green.
Shrink the left side bunker so shots can more easily reach the green from the regraded left side.
Remove the right side bunker and regrade things so the right side of the green will create some interesting chipping opportunities. 17 of our holes have bunkers on both sides of the green. Having a few holes with bunkers on only one side will add some variety and make shots around the green a bit easier for higher handicap players.
Slightly move and enlarge the bunker behind the green, thus making it more visible and more in play for any shot that goes over the green.
One fun fact from the proposed changes is that the long tee on 9 could be used as a short tee for the 7th hole. It would create a 120 yard downhill shot and could be fun and create some occasional variety.
Here is a virtual rendering of the hole that shows how the changes to the left side will work.
